Why Solardome

Solardome has pioneered the development of small scale glass and aluminium domes since 1969 and sells direct from its own design and manufacturing facility in the UK to customers worldwide.

Solardome's geodesic domes are based on the revolutionary design principles of Richard Buckminster Fuller and create the perfect balance between science and nature.

Solardomes are versatile, secure, eco-friendly, long-lasting and require virtually no maintenance. This makes them perfect structures for a range of applications across the domestic, commercial and education markets. Solardomes were traditionally designed to be the ultimate greenhouse due to their natural strength and shape. However, as the domes have evolved in size and height their appeal has widened and they are now used for a variety of applications, including palm houses, orangeries, sun rooms, spa covers, artists' studios and entertaining rooms.

With the provision for learning outside the classroom now a key priority of the education agenda, many schools are using our domes for structured growing initiatives. In recognition of this, we have introduced a collection of domes specifically for educational establishments, called the Solardome for growing schools range. All of the domes within this range come complete with toughened glass as standard.
